The BCH Specialty Clinic is expanding its services.

In recent months, BCH has added two new specialties to its list of visiting providers. BCH now offers the services of Lincoln Nephrology & Hypertension and CHI Health Nebraska Heart Electrophysiology.

Lincoln Nephrology providers focus on chronic kidney disease and related health issues, and Nebraska Electrophysiology providers focus on the care of heart arrhythmia, including the use of pacemakers and defibrillators.

“We are excited to be able to offer more services for our patients close to home,” said Tiffany Trauernicht, Clinic Nurse Supervisor for the Specialty Clinic. “We hear every day from our patients how grateful they are they don’t have to travel for these appointments.”

According to Trauernicht, these two new clinics join nine other visiting specialists in the Second Floor Specialty Clinic:

· Cardiology

· Ears, Nose Throat

· Gastroenterology

· Neurology

· Neurosurgery

· Podiatry

· Pulmonology

· Urology

· Vascular

The oncology visiting specialists see patients in the Infusion Center (Entrance A).

BCH employed providers also offer:

· General Surgery

· Orthopedics

· Pain

· Pulmonology

· Wound & Ostomy

Trauernicht encouraged patients to talk with their provider about getting a referral to see one of the specialists, or to call the Specialty Clinic at 402-223-7275 to learn more. Contact information for each specialty is also available on the BCH website at beatricecommunityhospital.com.

If needing to cancel or reschedule an appointment, Trauernicht encouraged patients to call as soon as possible so that staff can call other patients who may be wanting an appointment.

“Specialists are in Beatrice on a limited basis,” Trauernicht said, “and every appointment that can be filled and utilized helps to keep one more patient from having to travel out-of-town to see the doctor.”
