An oncologist is a medical doctor or provider who specializes in diagnosing, staging, and
treating cancer. They guide patients through their entire cancer journey, develop treatment
plans, and coordinate a team of healthcare professionals.

A primary care physician typically refers a patient to an oncologist if they find an unusual
growth, have abnormal blood work, or receive a confirmed cancer diagnosis.

Patients have their oncology appointments in the BCH Infusion Center located on the first
floor of the hospital. Use Entrance A for easy access to the Infusion Center.
