Beatrice Family & Internal Medicine

Services

Whatever your stage of life, from pediatrics to senior care, we create personal and lasting healthcare relationships for the entire family. As primary care providers, our doctors, nurse practitioners and physician assistants care for patients with a broad range of acute, chronic, and preventative medical issues. Family medicine includes providing physical exams, immunizations, preventative care, routine care for chronic conditions (such as diabetes or hypertension), and men’s or women’s health.

Our entire staff is dedicated to the whole patient. We work with every patient in all aspects of their care, starting when they schedule an appointment and continuing through referrals to a specialist’s office. To provide the most comprehensive care, we have case managers, behavioral health specialists, and lab and pharmacy experts on our team. This way you can get all the support and guidance you need to achieve your health goals in one place. We enjoy caring for the entire family and following our patients through the different stages of life.

    • An "Annual Provider Visit," often referred to as an "Annual Wellness Visit," is a yearly appointment with your Primary Care Provider (a doctor, a physician assistant or an advanced care registered nurse). This visit is an opportunity to review your overall health, assess potential risks and create or update a personalized prevention plan to maintain your well-being. During this visit, the provider or nurse will take your vital signs, discuss your medical history, and review necessary preventive screenings based on your age and health factors.
    • Primary goals of an annual visit:
      • Focus on prevention:
One primary goal is to identify and address potential health issues before they become serious by discussing lifestyle habits, family history, and necessary preventive screenings.
      • Health risk assessment:
Your provider will likely ask questions about your lifestyle, diet, exercise habits and family history to assess your risk for chronic diseases.
      • Basic measurements:
This usually includes checking your height, weight, blood pressure, and sometimes other vital signs.
      • Review of medications:
Your provider will review your current medications and discuss any potential interactions or adjustments needed.
      • Personalized plan:
Based on your assessment, your doctor will create a personalized plan for preventive care, including recommended screenings, vaccinations and lifestyle modifications. Call the clinic or use online scheduling to schedule your next appointment with your doctor or provider.
    • A DOT physical is a medical exam that ensures drivers of commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) are healthy enough to drive safely. The exam is required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). You are encouraged to arrive 30 minutes prior to your appointment to complete the required DOT paperwork. You must bring a valid driver's license to the appointment.

      • Vision Test
      • Hearing Test
      • Blood Pressure Check
      • Urine Test
      • Medical History

DOT physical must be performed by a certified medical examiner (CME) who is listed on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) National Registry. Call the clinic or use online scheduling to find a CME at Beatrice Family & Internal Medical Clinic or Wymore Medical Clinic.
    • A Medicare Wellness Visit is a yearly appointment with your Primary Care Provider. You can prepare for your visit by completing any forms your provider's office sends you. You can also gather information to bring to your appointment, such as:
