In her nomination, Anna shared: “Michaela is one of the hardest working and nicest nurses I know, and she does everything with a smile! I've worked with Michaela since the pandemic when she was a new nurse starting out and she was always a team player, always making sure her patients and co-workers were doing all right. She started during a very stressful time of nursing with several others, and she was very quick learning and always kept a sense of humor that made her very likeable.

“Michaela would soon train and move on to Labor and Delivery and Nursery, but she always goes out of her way to say hi to everyone on the floor and in ICU and will make time to help others no matter where they are, even if a co-worker just seems a little tired. Michaela is quick to get the next call light just to help take the load off her teammates.

“Michaela is very personal and easy to talk to and will go above and beyond for all her patients. One night that always stands out in my mind is we had a little old lady patient with dementia that got more confused at night. She would become worried and feel that she had to leave; she was very anxious. I remember Michaela sitting with her at the nurses station and would file and do her nails while they chatted away and the patient started to relax and smile. They talked ‘girl talk’ until she started to fall asleep, then Michaela tucked her back into bed.

“Kindness is something every living being understands and Michaela has that in spades! She is an amazing nurse, co-worker and friend!”
