Free Sunscreen at the Beatrice Water Park

Beatrice Community Hospital Nurse Case Managers are partnering with the City of Beatrice to provide free sunscreen at the Beatrice Big Blue Water Park.

With a BCH Foundation grant, the Nurse Case Managers purchased three dispensing machines to be installed at the pool.  City officials will continue to refill the machines as necessary during the pool season.

Sunscreen provides a shield that absorbs or reflects the sun's ultraviolet (UV) radiation, greatly lowering your risk of skin cancer. Regular application also prevents painful sunburns and up to 90 percent of premature skin aging like wrinkles and age spots.

Dermatologists generally recommend using at least SPF 30 for everyday exposure, and SPF 60 or higher if you are spending extended time outdoors.
