Beatrice Community Hospital Top 100 Hospital for 2025

Beatrice Community Hospital has been named a Top 100 Critical Access Hospital in the nation for the second year in a row.

“I am incredibly proud of Beatrice Community Hospital and the quality healthcare we provide every day to our community,” said BCH CEO Rick Haraldson. “Every employee plays a role in caring for our patients and helping us earn Top 100 status.”

The annual Top 100 listing by The Chartis Center for Rural Health honors outstanding performance among the nation’s Critical Access Hospitals based on the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX. The INDEX uses publicly available data collected across a variety of areas impacting hospital operations and finance, including patient care, outcomes, patient perspective, quality and cost. It is regarded as one of the industry’s most significant designations of performance excellence.

In May 2024, BCH was recognized by The Chartis Group and the National Rural Health Association for being in the top 20 Critical Access Hospitals in the nation.

Also in 2024, BCH earned the Chartis Performance Leadership Award for excellence in Quality and in Outcomes.

“These recognitions are meaningful because they highlight the compassion and dedication of our providers and all our employees in providing quality care for our patients in Beatrice and the surrounding area,” Haraldson said.

BCH is among 15 Nebraska critical access hospitals to make the Top 100 list for 2025. Others are: Antelope Memorial Hospital, Neligh; Avera St. Anthony’s Hospital, O’Neill; Boone County Health Center, Albion; Brodstone Healthcare, Superior; CHI Health St. Mary’s,  Nebraska City; Community Medical Center, Falls City; Crete Area Medical Center, Crete; Howard County Medical Center, Saint Paul; Jefferson Community Health & Life, Fairbury; Johnson County Hospital, Tecumseh; Melham Medical Center, Broken Bow; Memorial Health Care Systems, Seward; Phelps Memorial Health Center, Holdrege; Thayer County Health Services, Hebron.

As of January 2025, there were 1,371 Critical Access Hospitals located throughout the United States.
