Dr. Grone reaches 100 Mark!
The BCH Surgery Team recently hosted a celebration party for Dr. Angela Grone for reaching a new milestone – performing more than 100 robotic surgeries at BCH!
Dr. Grone, a Broken Bow, Nebraska, native, and a board-certified OB-GYN, has been providing gynecological and obstetric care at BCH since 2013. She began performing robotic surgeries for hysterectomies, as well as robotic ovary and fallopian tube surgeries, in September 2023.
“I am proud of BCH for recognizing how important it is to invest in the best surgical technologies possible for our community,” Dr. Grone said. “BCH is fortunate to be able to offer robotic surgery and keep our patients close to home. It is comparable to any option available in larger cities.”
According to Dr. Grone, robotic surgery has significant advantages for gynecologic patients. “We are able to complete difficult and complex cases with minimally invasive techniques,” she said. “This helps avoid large incisions and reduces recovery time. Our patients have much less pain post operatively. This has led to quick same day discharge after the procedures and a decrease in narcotic use at home.”
The BCH OB-GYNs continue to offer vaginal surgery, as well as surgery for prolapse and incontinence.
Dr. Grone is a member of the provider team at the Beatrice Women’s & Children’s Clinic, located at Beatrice Community Hospital.
