Rick Brethouwer Recognized with Care Award 

Beatrice Community Hospital is proud to announce that Rick Brethouwer, housekeeping aide, was selected this year’s Care Award honoree.

Brethouwer was recognized for his dedication to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, strong teamwork, and exceptional patient care.

His full nomination reads as follows:

“Rick is a great EVS employee. He goes above and beyond to ensure patient areas are clean and disinfected. His monthly glow check average for this year is 98%, which shows just how much he cares about keeping BCH clean. He really enjoys getting to know the patients when cleaning their rooms and helping them feel comfortable with their stay at BCH.  Rick works with the nursing staff to ensure that any patient requests he receives are passed along."

"The nursing staff in SDS has praised Rick for being very accommodating and quick to turn rooms around. He does a great job as a team lead during early-morning call-ins, making sure all patient areas are covered for the day.  Rick’s teammates all enjoy working with him, and he receives kudos from them all. When Rick's direct supervisor was on medical leave, he did an amazing job covering weekends and days off and keeping his teammates up to date on day-to-day happenings. Rick does a great job with Patient Experience and is continually working to improve his skills to be the best he can be.”
