COVID Masking & Visitation Update

Masks for Public / Patients

  • Face masks are no longer required for visitors/patients entering a BCH facility. You may be asked to wear a face mask at registration based upon your screening at registration.

Cafeteria:

  • Open to the general public

Visitation/Support Person

  • COVID patients: one healthy support person designated to visit the entire stay in room (no switching or additional family)
    • We encourage family members to
      • Utilize the Friends & Family Portal
      • Call the room telephone number
      • Use personal devices
      • Send flowers or mail
  • No other restrictions on visitation, as long as visitors are not sick. Departments may restrict visitation if it is in the best interest of the patient and/or department

 

Visitation in ED / Express Care

  • One healthy support person allowed with patient, including COVID patients
  • If patient is a minor, both parents will be allowed.

Support Person for clinic and outpatient (lab, diagnostic imaging, surgery etc.) visits

  • One healthy support person allowed.
  • If patient is a minor, both parents will be allowed.

 

Update on COVID-19 Booster Shots

 

COVID-19 booster shots are now available for both the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines, as well as Pfizer! Booster shots are available at our Children and Adult Immunization Clinic located at 1110 Jackson St. in Beatrice. Please be aware that the Immunization Clinic requires an appointment (402-223-2366) for the shot.

 

For individuals who received a Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, the following groups are eligible for a booster shot at 6 months or more after their initial series:

  • 65 years and older
  • Age 18+ who live in long-term care settings
  • Age 18+ who have underlying medical conditions
  • Age 18+ who work or live in high-risk settings

 

For those who got the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, booster shots are also recommended for those who are 18 and older and who were vaccinated two or more months ago.

 

 

 

To Schedule COVID-19 Vaccination

 

BCH is committed to providing COVID vaccinations to the community and will continue to do so through our Children and Adult Immunization Clinic.  Anyone seeking a COVID vaccination is asked to call our Immunization Clinic to schedule an appointment.

 

The Immunization Clinic is located with our Home Care, Personal Nursing Care and Hospice services at 1110 Jackson Street.

  • Vaccinations available for anyone age 12 and older.
  • Vaccination choices are Moderna, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson.
  • Must have appointment.
  • No out-of-pocket expense.
  • Bring Insurance, including Medicare, card to appointment.
