Beatrice Community Hospital nurses Linsey Freitag and Angie Roschewski have been inducted into the Nebraska Nurse Honor Guard.
Freitag and Roschewski, who work as registered nurses in the BCH Infusion Center, were inducted into the Nurse Honor Guard April 29 and are members of the Lincoln Area Chapter.
As members of the Nurse Honor Guard, Freitag and Roschewski have agreed to be available to assist in providing a brief tribute at the memorial service or funeral of nursing professionals or a living tribute for a nursing professional over the age of 90 or on hospice.
They said their goal is to create enough interest to start a Southeast Nebraska Chapter. As of April 29, there were 166 members in the Honor Guard.
The nurses in the Honor Guard do not represent any specific hospital but represent all nurses in the state. Among its goals are to honor nurses and to become a repository for nursing history in Nebraska.
