Meet Dr. Luke Lisherness, a provider in our Beatrice Family & Internal Medicine Clinic.  Dr. Lisherness is one of 20 providers in the clinic, and is accepting new patients. Get to know more about Dr. Lisherness below!

Why did you pursue a career in healthcare?

“I grew up in a community service oriented military family and was always adept at science.  I took a Sports Medicine class my senior year of high school and realized that working in healthcare I could combine my passion for service with my science interests.  Getting paid to do it is even better!

What do you like about working in family medicine?

“I love the flexibility.  You can work in the clinic, ER, or hospital and can live anywhere in the country whether rural, suburban, or urban.  I also enjoy continuity and building relationships with my patients.  In addition, it’s never boring because we see something different every day and dabble in every field of medicine.”

Fun facts about yourself:

"I was raised in a military family and I recently just separated from the U.S. Air Force after seven years of active-duty service.  I was born in Australia. I have also lived in England and six other states!  My entire family is from the great state of Maine."
